Space Drive
Space Drive is a collection of Revolutionary New Electronic/Digital Driving Systems, designed for those with progressive diseases, high level paraplegia or limited strength and movement. Space Drive is a new generation of complex electronic driving controls.
The Motability accredited system utilises a progressive interior design along with innovative control features. Technical advancements enable the system to be finely tuned through a number of different mechanical and computerised features, so that it meets the individual's unique needs. This function also allows the system to be adapted to accommodate an individual's degenerative condition, without the need for expensive modifications.
The Space Drive System incorporates a Black Box and Active Redundancy function in all control units. This ensures full electric motor output, even if one control circuit fails, and the recording of all faults. Consideration has also been given to "In vehicle safety" by reducing, through design, internal projections on the control units. All systems are fitted with a back-up battery.
Each Space Drive Steering System has 4 function buttons built in. These can be used to operate secondary functions such as Indicators, Dip, Horn etc. It can also be fitted with an Electronic Gear Selector and the buttons used to select Park, Drive, etc.
Space Drive - 2 way Accelerator/Brake Lever
To operate this system, the Driver uses a lever to Accelerate and Brake. The system can be adjusted so that only minimum effort is required to move the lever. As with all Space Drive systems, this Adaptation can be totally customised to suit the requirements of the Driver. It can be fitted in conjunction with either the Space Drive Mini Steering wheel or a 2-way Steering Joystick. It has 4 secondary function buttons built in and the option of a fitted Armrest.
Space Drive - 2 way Joystick Steering System
This system is operated by pushing the joystick to the left and right to steer. It can be fitted in conjunction with the 2-way Accelerator and Brake Lever or the 2-way Accelerator and Brake Joystick. It has 4 secondary function buttons built in and the option of a fitted Armrest.
Space Drive - 4 way Joystick Accelerator/Brake and Steering System
This system is designed to be used with only one hand. The movement required to operate this system, is similar to that used to control the joystick on an Electric Wheelchair. The system can be adjusted so that only minimum effort is required to move the lever. As with all Space Drive systems, this Adaptation can be totally customised to suit the requirements of the Driver. It has 4 secondary function buttons built in and the option of a fitted Armrest.
Space Drive - Mini Steering Wheel
This system consists of an Electronic Mini Steering Wheel with 4 secondary function buttons. There is also a range of orthopaedic attachments available, to aid the Driver in gripping the wheel. The Wheel requires very little effort to turn it and can be adjusted to meet the individual's requirements. This system can be paired with either the 2-way Accelerator/Brake Lever or Joystick.
